Columbian Rainbow Boa

(Epicrates cenchria maurus)
Sex:  female
Temperment:  Sweet
Born: early 2002
From:  Claws & Paws Exotic Pets.  My first snake and I'll never regret it.  She's a beautiful animal, wonderful temperment.  She has never struck at me or bitten me.  I trust Nyoka with children (still suprivised of course) but I also trust Mystyx with kids and other people.  She was "tamed down" by my friend Christie at the store and thanks to her, is one of my favorite snakes. :)  Though she was labeled as a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, I do not regret paying more for her than you would a Columbian Rainbow as her attitude and personality make it all worth it. :)

You can see that she looks different according to times of the day.  During the daytime, she is even darker than these pictures (this was late afternoon).  It's a progressive thing but first thing in the morning she is dirt brown with only her belly being white, no spots showing or crescents...towards the night, she gradually gains her crescents and spots and her sides begin to lighten up.  At night, her leopard spots show up, the lavender hugh down her sides comes out and more white as well.  Very intriguing and beautiful lady. :)  Now we just need to get her a man. ;)
